Christmas Party Makeup

Yes, its that time of the year where we actually have to make an effort to look presentable to the public and for the family photos. When the whole room is dressed up in tinsel, wreaths and festive colors, it is your obligation to join in as well!

Especially in this time of the year where in we are hopping from party after party, you would want some thing that’ll last a whole night of singing and dancing. So it is important that you build a good longlasting and less greasy base. A new discovery of mine is the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light, which was in my Sephora.au haul(link here!). I treat this as a primer because of its matte like feeling on application. I lend to use this on the areas of my face where I tend to get oily. And then buff a pea-sized amount of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation in Ivory.

Of course, the perfect base would not be complete without a great functional concealer like the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in 10 Light and a setting powder like the RCMA Makeup No Color Powder. These two products have changed my life. (no exaggerating) 

Although a good base is (very) important, a little warmth around the cheek area would be a great addition too! The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush in Exposed is a muted pink blush(not too pink& not too dusty rose) and the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Bronze-01 to add some shade to the cheeks, although this isn’t a contour shade because it has a warmer tone to it. At the moment, I am all about highlighting my cheekbones, and in the spirit of Christmas, highlight that beautiful face of yours with the Benefit High Beam. Then to top it all off, seal it with the L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Pro-Spray.

I specifically choose the Zoeva Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette for this look because of its festive colors. A good combination that I use when I fancy dress are the first three shades on the upper left. I did a comprehensive review on this palette a few weeks ago(link here!) Then to add some more vavavoom, the K-palette 24h Real Lasting Eyeliner WP 01  with an unassuming cat eye would look so great!

 

One of the few brow products that I know that are pretty pigmented is the It Cosmetics Prow Powder Perfector in Universal Taupe. I swear this will last the next day even after you clean your face after a night out. Its that amazing! (Comment below if you want a review on this!) 

Since a nude lip would look great with the eye look, using the Too Faced Perfect Lips Lipliner in Perfect Spice paired with the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park. Both are really pigmented and long lasting.

Zoeva Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette | The Review

Zoeva has well been under the makeup spotlight for the past few months. They are well-known to product some amazing quality makeup brushes(especially the Kabuki kind)that are mostly VEGAN. But recently, they have been come out with other makeup products that range from blush and eyeshadow palettes that have Vitamin E and are Paraben Free.

This being my very first product from Zoeva, I was excited to see what all the fuss was about! I picked up the Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette, which I talked about in my Sephora AU Haul blog post the other week. I picked this up manily because I wanted to see how good these shadows were compared to the Urban Decay and Lorac eyeshadow palettes.

Let me first start with the packaging, I love practically everything Rose Gold and cute patterned designs. But seriously… how could you not put a mirror in an eyeshadow palette? Especially one that is within a medium to high price range(This palette was $38AUD).

I feel that this palette has a really good set of red toned eyeshadow shades. These type of shades really look good with green eyes. This palette has a total of 10 shades with 3 matte shades and 7 that are more on the metallic side. 

I used this palette when getting ready for a friend’s wedding and Halloween, let’s just say that this palette did its job well. It blended well in my crease and with other colors on my eyelid. And it stayed on for a decent amount of time with a little help from my eyeshadow primer and setting spray.

My favorite shades in this palette aside from the Luster(because I do love a good nude) would be Shining Bright and Just a Rose. Although I feel like Rusty Petals would make a great transition shade too!

All in all: I think that this eyeshadow palette is great! Especially for those who enjoy playing around with shimmery shades and what not. Although they should put a mirror in there next time!

Sephora Haul! | Sephora.au

As a few of you lovely people may know, I recently visited Australia for a bit and knowing the makeup-skincare obsessed girl that I am, I obviously did a trip to Sephora. Australian Sephora is a bit different from the ones in the US, in a sense that they don’t have the exact brands as the US. But for something that’s at the other end of the world, it’s pretty great selection to choose from.

Australia is generally a more expensive place to shop due to the higher taxes and what not. So I gave myself an amount of money to spend and I worked around it because TBH, I don’t need more makeup. But I did need something new to review on my blog.

ORIGINS Drink Up Intensive. ORIGINS Clear Improvement. ORIGINS Out Of Trouble. This was actually a face mask trio. I bought this because I have had a full size mask from Origins before and to be honest, it is kind of impossible to finish a full size face mask thing. So I got this one, each of them are 50mL and it allows me to try other types of masks without spending almost 100AUD on face masks alone(because thats crazy).

La Vanilla The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla. I first heard about this deodorant from Estee Lalonde in on of her Sephora hauls awhile back. She mentioned that this was the deodorant she used religiously. And I thought, If Estee loves it, I should try it too! 

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment. You can say that I am Estee Lalonde obsessed… Because I also heard about this product from her and I just had to buy it too! I used it as soon as I bought it and wow, it is more than just a lip balm!

 

It Cosmetics Prow Powder Perfector in Universal Taupe. I originally planned to repurchase the ABH Brow Wiz , but I noticed that it would come out cheaper if I ordered it from a reseller back home. So, I scratched that idea and picked up this baby. I have no idea how good or bad this product is. So comment below if you want an honest review about this! 

Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Light. Initially I told the lady at Sephora that I wanted a light base, like a tinted moisturizer. And little did I know I would pick up another Tarte base(because I don’t have enough obvs). This is actually a BB tinted treatment but she said it was practically the same thing.

Zoeva Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palette. I was due to pick up a brand new full-size palette because I bought my previous one almost 2 years ago. So when I saw this,  I just had to get it because first, its packaged in Rose Gold, second, there are Rise Gold shades in the palette. Can’t you tell that I love me some Rose Gold? Even if I don’t use this on the daily, I know I will love this baby! Comment below if you want a full review with the swatches and all!
